Where a survey often starts

  • Village and small-town schools on large grounds, where the meter can sit at the road and the supply pipe runs under playgrounds and fields to reach the buildings.
  • Sites extended over many years, where newer blocks, modular classrooms or sports buildings are fed from older supply pipes.
  • Schools on tight town plots, where a leak under a hall or corridor floor shows up as damp or a rising bill long before any water appears.

Where a survey often starts

  • Urban school sites where one meter feeds several buildings, so the first job is working out which branch is losing water.
  • Academy trusts with schools in different parts of the city, where comparing meter readings across sites points to the one with the problem.
  • Schools in Newport Pagnell, Olney and the surrounding villages, covered by the same team and the same survey process.

Near the county boundary

School addresses do not always follow council boundaries. Some schools in the Buckinghamshire Council area have Slough, Maidenhead, Uxbridge or Leighton Buzzard postal addresses. Can a leak survey happen during term time?

Often, yes. The detection methods are non-invasive, and the visit is planned with your site team around access, safeguarding and the school day. Some tests need part of the water supply isolated for a time, which is agreed with you first.
